Overview of the Duke Supplier Diversity Program
Duke University and Duke Medicine are committed to supporting diversity in our community. One of the many strategic efforts we are involved in is Duke’s Supplier Diversity Program, which is dedicated to helping diverse businesses grow locally and globally.
As a Procurement Services and Supply Chain Management initiative, the Duke Supplier Diversity Program staff works to ensure that diverse firms have an equal opportunity to do business with Duke University and Duke Medicine. We partner with vendors and organizations who share our commitment to diversity and our mission to strengthen our local community by promoting the development of woman-owned, minority and historically underutilized businesses.
By promoting certified diverse partners in our everyday business decisions, we play a leadership role in the collegiate environment. We realize that to maintain a competitive business practice, we must continue to create opportunities for minority and woman-owned businesses housed in the local community. As an active member of The Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council, The Multicultural Business and Professional Group of the Durham Chamber of Commerce and The North Carolina Institute for Minority Economic Development, we continue to connect to the community by meeting and networking with new, diverse firms and forging greater relationships with developed suppliers.
Please help support our efforts by visiting the new Diverse Vendor Database to find woman and minority-owned suppliers. Go to www.procurement.duke.edu and click on the link to Supplier Diversity, then the link for the Diverse Vendor Database.
